NSW selective high schools and opportunity classes

Every NSW public school with a Year 7 selective intake or a Year 5 opportunity class, with the facts the Department of Education publishes: type, places, address and the Department’s own notes. Schools are grouped by type and listed alphabetically. There are no scores here, because the Department publishes none.

Details checked 15 September 2026 against the Department’s selective high schools list (updated 10 September 2026) and opportunity classes list (updated 23 July 2026).

Alexandria Park Community School and Aurora College take both Year 7 selective and Year 5 opportunity class students, so they appear in two groups. Sydney Secondary College Blackwattle Bay Campus is on the Department’s selective list but teaches Years 11 and 12 only, with no Year 7 places, so it has no page here.

Looking for a minimum mark? The Department publishes none for any school. Here’s what families receive instead.
